"Whitefriars, set in substantial gardens with a courtyard, is in the centre of this ancient market town that is at one end of the scenic Settle to Carlisle railway. The building could almost be straight out of the pages of a Jane Austen novel, with its elegant bow windows at ground- and first-floor level. |

It dates from the seventeenth century, and as the name suggests, the buildings origins are monastic. Inside the house boasts beams, a log fire, marble fireplaces and a grandfather clock, and the owners have combined traditional furnishings with a mixture of antiques and more modern pieces.All the bedrooms are of a good size and comfortable; five of the nine rooms have en suite showers.The dining room is where an 'excellent' breakfast is served" |

have two spacious lounges, with original beams and marble fireplaces,
one with open log fire and colour television. May we welcome you to Whitefriars. Being a family run house children are welcome, but we are sorry that there are no facilities for pets. |
